Inverness, Capital of the Highlands, became Scotland´s fifth city in celebration of the start of the Third Millennium and is currently Europe´s fastest growing city. The city lies where the River Ness enters the Moray Firth and is a natural hub for various transport links. A settlement was established by sixth century AD, the first royal charter being granted in the thirteenth century. It lies near the site of the eighteenth century Battle of Culloden.
Savour the countless miles of walking paths amidst stunning scenery and the Ness islands, where you may spot anglers and blue nose Dplphins , Loch Ness, legendary home of the famous Loch Ness Monster ( Nessie ) is nearby and easy to get to from the city. Eden Court Theatre is situated near the cathedral, is the venue for shows, music and cinema. The building incorporates part of the old Bishop´s Palace and is said to be haunted by the ´Green Lady´ ghost of a wife of one of the bishop´s who hanged herself there.
Modern Inverness is a thriving City centre of retail commerce and other businesses, providing a good selection of shopping facilities, pubs and restaurants In essence Inverness offers excellent transport links with beautiful countryside, on its doorstep, whilst providing an excellent selection of amenities.
